Elvira Haas studied Technical Biology at the University of Stuttgart/Germany. After her studies she did her doctorate in the field of receptor and ligand interaction and the molecular signal transduction in mammalian cells at the University of Stuttgart. As a postdoc, she continued her research in this field in the USA and Switzerland. At the University Hospital Zurich she worked as a research scientist and team leader in the field of vascular physiology and biology at the Department of Internal Medicine. In this role, she conducted various research projects and supervised doctoral students. In 2016, she completed her Master in Advanced Studies in Management Technology and Economics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich and subsequently helped establish the BioEntrepreneurship & Innovation Program at the University of Zurich (UZH), Institute for Regenerative Medicine. Since June 2018 Elvira Haas has been working as project manager at the Evaluation Office of the UZH.
