Privacy Policy (Expert Survey)

Purpose of the survey

The survey is conducted on behalf of the University of Zurich (UZH) and serves to secure and to improve the quality of the evaluation process.

Personal data collected

The following personal data are collected in the questionnaire: Name of the unit that you evaluated. For the distribution of the hyperlink to the questionnaire we use your e-mail address.

Data collection, processing, storage and erasure

The online survey is conducted by means of the external online portal “Questback”. UZH has obliged "Questback" to ensure compliance with data protection regulations through legal, technical and organizational measures. The data are only transmitted in the online portal using SSL encryption. Each participant will receive a personal access code that allows her/him the option of continuing with the survey even at a later date. The time of access and the IP address are stored each time the portal is accessed. A system backup is generated on a daily basis to protect personal data against any accidental destruction or loss.

The survey and analysis of the data is carried out by employees of the Evaluation Office. Access to the data is restricted to the employees of the Evaluation Office, who are subject to a confidentiality obligation.

For all questions, there is the option of not answering (answer category “Don’t know/no answer

The anonymized data are stored on the servers of the UZH until the end of the third evaluation cycle (2027) and will then be completely and irretrievably erased.

Data analysis

The data collected is evaluated only for the above-noted purposes. The directly identifiable personal data (e.g., e-mail, IP address) will be deleted immediately after the data collection. The data will be used only in aggregated form (frequency distribution, mean value, median value, modal value for the individual questions).

Your comments and suggestions for the different topics will be stored with their original wording. Please therefore structure your answers in such a manner that identification of persons is not possible. Any statements through which identification could be possible are anonymized or deleted to the maximum possible extent. However, the content of your statement might potentially allow a conclusion to be drawn with respect to your person.

How will the reports be made public?

The collected data and the respective analyses are only intended for the use within the Evaluation Office. If required, the results serve to account to the governing bodies of the UZH or to the supervisory bodies of the Canton of Zurich.

Your individual rights

You may withdraw their consent to processing in full or in part for the future at any time by written notice to the Evaluation Office of the University of Zurich and may request that all data collected to that date be erased, provided that any erasure of the data collected does not make realization of the purpose of the survey impossible or seriously jeopardize it.
