Organization and mission
Our team consists of a head, several project leaders and a back office.
The evaluation process, as part of the university’s strategy and quality development system, combines with the Academic Development and Leadership and Quality Management for Education and Teaching areas to form an integrated evaluation concept.
The mission of the University of Zurich Evaluation Office is to conduct evaluations for all divisions of the university.
The objectives of the evaluations are:
- To develop decision-making tools for medium- and long-term planning.
- To raise and further refine the quality of academic work in the areas of research, teaching and services as well as the quality of managerial and administrative work at the university.
- To provide accountability to the public.
The evaluation process comprises a number of different steps. Throughout each step, our project leaders act as liaison and contact persons to assist everyone involved.
The back office handles all administrative matters, manages the website and supports the project leaders.
The team also concerns itself with quality assurance and quality development projects in the context of topics such as sustainability, diversity and internationality, as well as with matters such as surveys, qualitative data analyses, measurement of research performance, bibliometric methods, rankings, etc.
