Renate Fischer has been the project leader for the University of Zurich’s reaccreditation process since June 2026.
She studied Communication Science, Political Science, and Economics at UZH. Her dissertation (2024) focuses on the transformation of the public sphere and its impact on democracy. At the University of Zurich, she initially worked as a research assistant and later as a senior research and teaching associate at the Department for Communication Sciences and Media Research (IKMZ). In 2021/22, she worked at the Evaluation Office as project leader of the 2022 UZH Employee Survey and as a maternity leave replacement for a project leader for evaluations. She subsequently supported an organizational development project at the University of Zurich and assisted with the revision of a textbook. Since February 2024, she has been a member of the staff of the Office of the Vice President Education and Student Affairs, initially as deputy head of staff (maternity leave replacement), and subsequently as overall project manager for UZH Accessible (a strategic project of the Executive Board of the University). Alongside her role as project leader for the re-accreditation, she continues to work in the Office of the Vice President Education and Student Affairs.
